Record the site conditions

Describe the work area and source of water, including how conditions vary over time. Note sediment or debris and any available observations or measurements. Explain the result the work requires rather than starting only with a pump size.

Identify collection and discharge points

Describe the proposed collection location and the discharge point identified for the project. Record approximate distances and elevation changes. Include the discharge requirements already established by the people managing the site.

Plan the equipment route

Include hose paths, crossings, obstacles and space for equipment placement. Identify delivery access and the available power arrangement. Note where the equipment must move as the excavation or work area changes.

Set the operating context

Share the expected operating period and the conditions that would change the requirement. Identify the site contact coordinating water removal and equipment service. Bring monitoring and replacement needs into the discussion when relevant.

Bring the plan together

Use the site description to request pumps, hoses and related equipment as one arrangement.

  • Water source and work-area description
  • Liquid and solids conditions
  • Collection and discharge points
  • Route distance and elevation changes
  • Power, access, schedule and site contact
